Rambo: First Blood

Rating: R

Genre: Action

Plot: John Rambo is a Vietnam War Hero who has just returned to the States. He travels by foot to visit a friend, but finds out his friend has died, so he heads into the nearby town to get some food, when he his stopped by a cop. The officer wants him out of town simply because he is a drifter, and then arrests him. Rambo escapes from prison, and goes on a rampage causing much trouble.

The movie is a great action movie. It gets quite violent at times, but the overall story line is extremely good. There are many points in the movie that make you wonder what the producers were thinking, because of simple events that are simply outrageous. Rambo appears to be mentally unstable, as he has flashbacks from his time in Vietnam. He was trained to live off of the land and to ignore pain, and this makes him extremely good at hunting down the people chasing him. He appears to have no problem killing man after man to stay alive and avoid being caught by the police. Though the movie is rather old, the effects are still pretty good. The blood is rather convincing, and when people are shot, stabbed, etc. it looks real.
I give the movie 4 pickles out of 5!
